National Solidarity Movement (NSM)

The National Solidarity Movement (NSM) is a Political Party in Malawi, which was registered on 17th February, 1999. It is led by its President, Kazuni Kumwenda an expert in International Law Relations and Politics who has studied up to Ph. D level. The party is aided by businessmen, professionals and intellectuals from different fields on a common cause, to be elected to lead this country to a prosperous and united Malawi for the betterment of its people.

The priority of the party is to lead Malawians out of poverty, ignorance and diseases. At a recent meeting the party proposed Kazuni Kumwenda to apart from standing as a Presidential Candidate also stand for Mzuzu City Constituency. Of all the cities in Malawi, Mzuzu is still the least developed. Malawi needs a visionary leader to voice concerns for all regions, people and creed under the banner that is NSM.

New Age Politics

Whereas there has existed democracy in Malawi, the past 14 years have made everyone to see the danger of despot leadership. The coming to power of Bakili Muluzi who says he never expected to be a president in his life brought untold suffering to many people and his group has been baying for the blood and fall of the incumbent Head of State Bingu wa Mutharika through impeachment and other heinous means. And whereas this has been so, other registered political parties see things differently.

The National Solidarity Movement has these plans

1. ECONOMY - All Malawians have been subjected to poverty and malnutrition because of the myopic leadership of Bakili Muluzi and UDF (United Democratic Front). NSM will make all workers have a credit security of MK100.00 per day cashable from auto banks and one third of their salary split into three to be offered every Friday afternoon through Malawi Savings Bank a subsidiary of Reserve Bank of Malawi.

2. TRANSPORT – A thousand buses will operate in the 20 cities in Malawi. Airports in 17 aerodromes shall be operational, Karonga, Mzuzu [the 1943 British Air Force Base at Ekwendeni shall be re-opened], Mzimba., Nyika Hills [Rumphi], Kasungu, Lilongwe [KIA], Salima, Mangochi, Likoma, Zomba, Chileka, Mulanje, Bangula, Nsanje, Majete are all airports for Malawians and tourists to use. The Railway shall be taken over by government and shall extend to Chitipa for use in distribution of fuel, fertilizer, livestock, and farm produce.

3. ALL WORKERS - Shall be supplied with a meal in between working hours and daily transport through metro buses to and from work places. Government will introduce a thirteenth cheque payable on 31December - Two salaries in December each year to promote overproduction. As of now Malawi is in under production and gross debt due to much time spent on planning anarchy to sack the head of state [Mutharika] under the foul forces of UDF .

4. ALL BASES - Which were formerly used by Malawi Young Pioneers shall be used for teaching / training computer science, driving, and other technical vocational jobs under supervision of the Educational sector of Malawi Army. In all the 21 foreign missions 5 embassies have not been effective because most officers are not national service volunteers. In future only national service volunteers will serve in embassies. Malawians can not be served as slaves by Ambassadors and their ignorant staff in the missions; such is the case that Malawian emissaries today are not willing or interested to attend problems faced by Malawians in the Diaspora. They will all have to go and competent officers from the Ministry of Defence will protect our flag and people.

5. MEMBERSHIP – :

  • I accept Kazuni Kumwenda as leader of my political party and further accept to work with fellow Malawians towards ending Poverty, Ignorance, Division and Disease without protracting violence on innocent civilians.
  • I accept the five corner stones upon which the party is built which are Unity, Loyalty, Obedience, Discipline and Brotherhood which will help all Malawians to have solidarity necessary for progress and development.
  • I accept to work with leaders of the Party in my area of residence which is a constituency and others in the Regional Committees in line with the manifesto and constitution of National Solidarity Movement.
  • I accept to work with Malawi Congress of Trade Unions as a forum for discussions towards betterment of working conditions at places of work rather than initiating strikes and boycott without round table discussions with my employers and Malawi Congress of Trade Unions. Being a member of the Civil Service, Police or Armed Forces does not mean I should not support truth. In the end all Malawians will be required to vote.
  • I accept rule of law and order as given in the constitution of the Republic of Malawi.

6. FOOD - There have been food shortages due to myopic planning, in future all districts will have food reserves for support of three years and each district will have 8 Farms run by the state for food crops, livestock, poultry, water and allied industries.

7. SALARIES - Each worker in Malawi shall receive a true and fair salary commensurate with his academic qualifications and professional training. Presently salaries are not normal. NSM is the only party that can put Malawians on the right footing of supplying legitimate salaries for all citizens.

8. WATER - Malawi is the only country which has one third of its land as water yet faces serious water shortage problems. In future, over 700 windmills to be installed by the state will ensure that all areas are having sufficient water and sufficient reservoirs shall be built in all strategic areas. Cities will need large reserves.

9. MILK AND HONEY - This is a must for all Malawians and the state will supply all to confirm the promise. After all Malawians will vote for milk and honey as a party slogan. Milk and Honey industries shall be in all districts and run by the state.

10. SHOPPING MALLS – Tenders will be offered to appropriate shopping chains. Shopping malls shall be built in all districts as large central complexes, whereat laundries, postal and telecommunication facilities, cinemas, and community halls shall also be available in addition to outlets for various merchandise and restaurants. At least five such complexes in a district shall suffice

11. INDUSTRIES - Shall be in abundance in Malawi because NSM is going to take Malawi up from being a low productive country to a highly industrialised country, as Malawi already possesses tools for mass production in the form of raw material i.e. cotton, leather, molasses, oil seeds, paprika just a few of the untapped raw materials. Malawi will not indulge in spending weapons of mass destruction of fellow human beings. Initially 800 industries have been approved by the central committee of NSM

12. MEDIA – Penetration of newspapers and radio service must reach the total percentage of the population for dissemination of information

13. POLICE – In order to counter the high rise of crime, two thirds of the Malawi Police shall operate at night one third will be assisted by a Civilian Community Policing scheme to protect communities and deter crime. The Traffic Police will officially be at work during the night and day. Delegates from the British Police model of Hong Kong will be invited to help train Malawians in the new Metro Police Departments. Few officers will remain posted at stations due to shortage of housing. The rest will be provided to lease accommodations from civilians in all strategic areas of the posting. Each station will have10 out-posts reporting to it, and to the District Police Headquarters.

14. VISAS TO MALAWI - Shall mean visas to the Republic and the Malawian community. As much as Malawi is famous for its hospitality which is second to none and its welcoming of all people from around the world to visit our country, yet we are also very protective to conserve our culture, which is enshrined with moral codes and respect for family values. Malawi is a destination for pleasure seekers, yet strict on decadence behaviour. Since David Livingstone left his mark on the Malawian psyche, Malawi remains a God fearing Nation respectful of all Monotheistic faiths and the rule of law and order.

15. SYLLABUSES - In schools and colleges will be updated to the highest quality of International education.

16. PRICES - Of all commodities will have to be relevant to the economy standards of Malawians, by which computerised database will track and maintain necessary adjustments in order to prevent fraud.

17. NOW IN MALAWI - Many people stand to be cheated by falsehood, which in actual fact is easy to decode due to the fact; truth will set you free as the price of liberty is internal vigilance. Refer to the annual party cards at every populous place, including manifestoes and constitution at offices of every District Commissioner, Town Councils in all areas in Malawi. Bind yourself to the truth only it will set you free now. All Plotters planning to damage the sincere wishes of Malawians will destroy themselves in public.

The ideology and philosophy of National Solidarity Movement (NSM) is based on noble and logical principle of governing and administration. A Republic is for the people (regional masses), not a few people for the downfall of the Republic by setting their goals to enrich themselves and never relinquish their power of leadership. NSM has to make it clear, that the Republic is for the masses.

As Malawians we are offering our help to restore Malawi back on track, after going through the worst blunder in the history of our land since independence.

IMPORTANT PROMISE
_________________________

All Malawians are aware of the situation the country is in since the end of Dr. Banda’s civilised leadership. Our party NSM is ready to take over after Mutharika’s time is over on 14th May 2009.

THE FOLLOWING ARE IMPORTANT PROMISES NSM INTENDS TO DELIVER:

1. NSM will provide stable jobs to atleast 80 percent of employable Malawians under a new employment opportunities scheme, both in the civil service and private sector.

2. NSM Government will set up three points for mass supply to Malawians of basic necessities of seeds, farm implements, household merchandise, and automobiles. The locations are Ekwendeni, Mponela and Bangula.

3. FERTILIZER is a priority for Malawi. NSM has planned to manufacture fertilizer at Vwaza, Nkhotakota, and Bangula for all Malawians.

4. MALAWI is currently losing one third of its annual finances to road haulage for ferrying imports between Durban and Malawi. NSM will seek help from Taiwan on security and make sure that the Quelimane Harbour (Mozambique) is securely used at the earliest opportunity. Hong Kong will supply the fleet for sea shipping to Nsanje port.

5. MALAWI CUSTOMS will dispatch officers to new harbours.

6. NSM will ensure that methane gas is supplied at fair prices in all cities and towns so that gas stoves compliment electric stoves instead of firewood. This has worked excellently in Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland and it will work well in Malawi. Stoves shall also be made available in abundance.

7. Malawi never had a government that backs its citizens on loans. NSM will provide guarantee for Malawians to buy cars, cookers, cell-phones and other farming and household goods on hire-purchase. Loans will be paid back two to three years through government guarantee. Eighty percent of Malawians are in urgent need of vehicles, motorcycles, telephones, cookers, furniture etc but they can not manage to acquire them, at least until a caring leadership comes to power. In South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, a domestic servant can own a car and furniture, in Malawi he can not even afford shoes.

8. NSM has a cabinet of 21 officers and a central committee of 40. NSM works on honest plans of brotherhood to develop Malawi. No leader in NSM works against another as we are all co-workers with the leader for victory against forces of darkness. God blessed Malawi; we only need God fore-ordained leaders to guide us to success.

NSM WILL SET YOU AND ME FREE. NSM WILL HELP YOU. STAND FOR IT NOW!

Presidents [NSM] Memo

20th November 2006

Our Party [NSM] in conjunction with all other peace loving Malawians support the status quo of the coalition in parliament as led by Dr. Bingu wa Mutharika. At the time Mutharika was presented for swearing as STATE PRESIDENT in Malawi, we the people had undergone great mal-administration through what the laity in Malawi termed the corrupt regime of Bakili Muluzi; where a few benefited from their inner circle.

The next general election will avail Malawi of all misconceptions and give Malawi true leadership. Our party’s view is to allow Mutharika to finish off the remaining two and half years as long as he upholds rule of law and order. It is certain that he will and has to accept that he will leave office in May 2009.

There is a tendency to abuse office by dismissing senior officers in the civil service, cabinet, army and police without proper grounds as if they were ‘garden boys’ in ones estate which forces people to form plots and cliques. The Head of State is reminded of his oath of office and need to work with others as co-workers to develop Malawi so that the respect we had for him should remain forever. It is therefore important to remind the incumbent to shun false advice and avoid elimination of co-workers under strange grounds who eventually form cliques and calls for immediate end of his rule.

It is the view of our party that Dr. Mutharika will continue working honestly with all for the good of Malawi now and in the future. The Speaker of Parliament was elected by the coalition; therefore he has no vendetta to call for general elections within six months by deliberately invoking Section 65 which is a safeguard to the other more important section which reads and quote: members of parliament shall be free to speak, associate and do everything political for the good of Malawi without fear or favour. The Speaker has no power to force a line up of thoughts and feelings of Malawians by invoking a particular section wrongly; after all he is the first learned speaker after many decades. What will be his intentions? There have been many plots to plunge Malawi in darkness - the last two were to distract the attention of people to the effect that the State House is full of Zimbabwe born officers including controversial Agrinna Mussa’s proposed Malawi ambassadorship to Pretoria.

The current lie is that the speaker can plunge Malawi into darkness by invoking Section 65. All these are false ideas the constitution has so many sections which safe guard Malawi. All laws connect to one another. Members of parliament were wise to do what they did in the interest and welfare of Malawi. They are not forced to accept the coalition; it is for the good of Malawi. Let us all work together, and lodge our complaints in court if unfairly treated. Sister countries near us are in trouble of foreign and local plots, no one is above the law, and there is no life president in Malawi therefore don’t accept the devil and his plans to put us to sleep, we need much development now and in future. Long live Malawi.

Kazuni Kumwenda
President [National Solidarity Movement]
